Empowering mothers worldwide through connection, support, and shared experiences ✨
Heavy hair fall around 3–5 months postpartum is very common and largely hormonal. Supplements may support overall health, but most moms find the shedding phase simply has to pass.
⚠️ Caution:If hairfall is severe, patchy, or paired with fatigue/dizziness, consult your doctor—blood tests can identify treatable deficiencies.
Moms fear they’re going bald or something is wrong hormonally. Many moms share it’s usually postpartum hormonal shedding that looks scary but resolves—tests help if symptoms feel extreme.
Here's what moms in our community shared based on their own experience.
Moms shared that even with iron and calcium supplements, hair fall peaked around 3 months postpartum and slowly reduced by around 5 months.
Some tried hair gummies and other supplements but didn’t see a dramatic change in hair, though they noticed better nails or skin.
A few moms mentioned doctors suggesting continuing iron and calcium while breastfeeding to protect long-term bone and joint health, not just hair.
In the US, many OB-GYNs reassure moms that postpartum shedding is normal and temporary, and focus on checking iron/vitamin levels and stress rather than promising ‘miracle’ hair products.
